As moms, we are the ultimate life managers. We are the household supervisors, the calendar task masters, the ‘To-Do’ list generals. That leads us to find the best planner for moms like us.
It is our job to keep everyone and everything running smoothly and this requires planning and organization that, on some days, feels akin to running a small country!
When it comes to keeping all of our family’s appointments, lists, reminders and events in one place, a mom’s greatest tool is the planner. As a planner junkie, I like to try out a lot of different formats, layouts and brands and believe me, there are a lot to choose from! I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite planners that fit the lifestyle, preference and needs of any family…and their Manager Mom.
1. Panda Planner – The Best Planner for the Detailed Oriented Mom
The Panda Planner is the ultimate for detailed, mindful organization. Based on proven research into productivity, Panda Planner is designed to not only keep track of your daily, weekly and monthly tasks and appointments but also allows for goal setting, daily reflection and overall mental health check-ins. With various versions available, Panda Planner sets you up for success!
2. Simplified Planner – The Best Planner for the Simple But Beautiful Mom
The name says it all! Simplified Planner is the best planner for moms looking for a weekly or daily planner that offers space to manage everything life throws at you plus extra space to jot notes, to-do lists and thoughtful tips for living life a bit more simply.
With monthly/weekly and monthly/daily layouts, you can easily find the best fit for your family. An added bonus is with your purchase of a planner you will receive monthly coaching via email from Emily Ley, the designer of the Simplified Planner.
Simplified Planner is one of the more luxurious planners I’ve used; heavy weight paper and beautiful details make using these planners a truly lovely experience.
3. The Happy Planner – For The Creative Scrapbooker Mom
This one is a creative’s dream! The Happy Planner feels like a planner/scrapbook hybrid and offers customizable disc-bound planners in an array of sizes, types and layouts with all the added accessories you can think of. This is the best planner for moms who want to document in addition to plan.
Stickers, dividers, stamps and stencils are just the beginning. The Happy Planner offers a truly personalized experience that lets your personality shine while also keeping your to-dos, shopping lists and weekly appointments organized and in one place!
4. Silk & Sonder – The Best Planner for The Self-Care Seeking Mom
If you’re looking to have a whole wellness experience, while also managing the day to day, a Silk & Sonder planner is the answer. Designed with a blend of productivity, introspection and overall well-being, these stunning monthly planners give you an immersive experience that lends to the mental and emotional self care we are all seeking.
Silk & Sonder planners come as a subscription service with a new journal being sent to you either monthly, each quarter or for the full year. Each month has a dedicated theme featuring calendar spreads, habit trackers, journaling space and so much more.
5. Bullet Journal – The Best Planner for The Mental Overload Mom
The Bullet Journal is more about the method of planning, productivity and organization than it is about the actual planner itself. Developed as a way to intentionally and mindfully declutter your brain, the Bullet Journal method is a simple system of lists, notes, events and tasks to help take your racing mind and put it all in one place. A Bullet Journal starts with a blank book and using the prescribed system, creates a curated and very personalized system of organization.
Planning this way is a more involved process and requires a bit more time than a traditional, pre-printed planner, but when practiced regularly can become immensely helpful in taking the running list of things from your brain to paper. I would recommend learning the method, YouTube is a great place to start, and see if it would be the right fit for you and your lifestyle!
Finding a planner that meets the vast and varying needs of your busy life can seem like a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be! Take some time to decide what’s most important to you and what you need the most from an organization system. The perfect planner for you is out there!
