(Pearachute compensates me with a monthly membership for being an ambassador but my opinions in this post our 100% mine! I used Pearachute for six months before reviewing because I only want to bring my readers quality products & services.)
Summer vacation is upon us! Days that were once filled with school are now completely empty and need to be filled to keep us moms sane:) This is the perfect time for me to tell you about a service that I’ve been loving for the past 6 months: Pearachute! Pearachute is a membership based program that let’s you drop into classes all across the Chicagoland area. (Plus 4 other cities!)

Our Need for Flexible Fun
As soon as Georgia was old enough, we did gymnastics class and swimming classes. She loved interacting with other kids and I love getting out of the house and chatting with other moms. However, life happens and it wasn’t as easy as I planned to make it to class every week. Whether it was because we were going out of town or she got sick, we ended up missing about a quarter of the classes. It was a bummer to miss classes we paid for and miss out on our planned activity for the week.
The Solution to My Problem
In November of 2017, I was catching up on Shark Tank and a segment came on featuring Pearachute. The concept behind this company was so intriguing to me. You pay for a certain amount of credits each month and then you can use them to do a wide variety of kids classes across the city. Most activities can be cancelled up to an hour before they start. So if the flu befalls your house in the middle of the night, you can pop on the app and cancel your morning music class and not lose your credits. I signed up for a trial a few weeks later and I was hooked!
A New Way to Play
The first class I tried out with Georgia was a swim class at Goldfish Swim School. We don’t live super close to a Goldfish Swim School so signing up for weekly classes would just stress me out. However, looking on Pearachute and finding a class that perfectly fit our schedule was awesome. It was fun to peruse the Pearachute app on days we didn’t have anything going on and pick something new to do. We also found some great classes that we’ve returned to regularly because the girls loved them so much.
Playtime Beyond Classes
Not only does Pearachute have kid classes but they also partner with a bunch of museums where you can use your credits to buy admission. One of the first things my family did with Pearachute was go to the Museum of Science and Industry to see the Christmas Around the World exhibit. It was so fun! Definitely not something I would normally do because I am cheap. My typical M.O. would be to go on a free day and be annoyed it was so crowded, lol!
Only Pay for What You Do!
For me, Pearachute was everything because of it’s flexible cancellation policy. Most classes have a one-hour cancellation window. Meaning that if something comes up at the last minute, you have up until one hour before the class starts to cancel it and save your credits. One time Georgia woke up sick in the middle of the night so I cancelled our 9am dance class before passing back out at 3am. As long as you follow the guidelines for your specific class, you won’t lose your credits and you can book another class that works for you.
Your credits also rollover for six months so you don’t lose them at the end of the month. If you end up banking a few extra credits, you can use them on a bigger credit activities such as an Ed Sheeran concert or the Nickelodeon Slimefest they have coming up in a couple of weeks.
Growing Everyday
Pearachute started in Chicago but it’s currently in San Fransico, DFW area, Kansas City and Washington, D.C. It’s also coming soon to 8 more cities! In Chicago, it’s spreading beyond the city and landing in suburbs north and south. I live on the southwest side of the city and we find plenty things to do every month. Plus they are adding new partners all the time.
Great for All Families!
As a WAHM, I don’t have everyday free to do activities with my girls. The great thing about Pearachute is that they have activities during the week, on weekends and in the evenings. We like to take a music class Thursday afternoons and a dance class on Saturday mornings. If my schedule changes and we’re left with a Tuesday to ourselves, I know I can hop onto the app and find something fun to do last minute!

I’m super excited that they recently added Six Flags as a partner. Even though Georgia is only 3, I looked up the rides on their website and there is tons for her to do there! I’d love to hear in the comments below what classes look the most appealing to you.
