One caveat of using Instacart exclusively to buy my groceries at Aldi is never being able to get a rotisserie chicken because Aldi doesn’t carry them. Which is a bummer because rotisserie chickens are great for quick dinners, meal prep and making bone broth!
Instant Pot Rotisserie Style Chicken
Easy to make rotisserie chicken that’s done in ONE hour!
Ingredients
- 1 5-6lb whole chicken, giblets removied
- 2 tbsp rotisserie chicken seasoning
- 1 medium onion, quartered
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions

Turn Instant Pot on Saute and add oil to it.

Rinse chicken and pat dry. Season with salt, pepper and rotisserie seasoning. Add onion to the cavity.

Add chicken, breast side down, to Instant Pot and sear for 5 minutes and carefully flip it over to sear the other side for five minutes.

Remove chicken from Instant Pot and add trivet. Place chicken on top of the trivet, breast side up.

Add one cup of water and put the lid on and make sure the valve is on “Sealing”

Using manual normal pressure, cook chicken for 25 minutes. Then allow to natural release pressure for 15 minutes.

Remove chicken and carve or shred depending on use. Save bones to make bone broth with!
